Meet McKenzie

I’m McKenzie, Founder of The Lawton Group - strategist by trade, problem solver at heart.

Before founding The Lawton Group, I spent nearly a decade working across customer facing, strategy, and operational roles, supporting businesses in healthcare, HR tech, retail, and service based industries. That experience shaped how I think about growth - not as something flashy, but as something that requires strong systems, clear priorities, and thoughtful execution.

I founded The Lawton Group to bring that same strategic and operational rigor to small businesses that are building in real time. Since launching the firm, I’ve partnered closely with founders, primarily in retail, creative, lifestyle, and service based businesses, offering hands on support across pricing, systems, capacity, and day to day operations. Much of the work lives in thoughtful decision making support - acting as a thought partner and steady sounding board as founders navigate growth decisions, tradeoffs, and next steps. The approach is collaborative, practical, and grounded in what actually moves the business forward.

My background includes advising go to market strategy, leading customer success teams managing multi million dollar books of business, and building internal systems designed to scale. Today, through The Lawton Group, I blend strategy and execution - from operational streamlining and competitive analysis to contract support, retention strategy, and founder decision making.

Whether I’m helping untangle a messy workflow, pressure testing a growth decision, or simply offering a trusted perspective, my role is simple - to help founders build businesses that are well structured, values driven, and designed to support real life.
